Making Dorset
Building on the county’s rich tradition of craft, design, and making, Dorset Visual Arts announces the return of its Making Dorset project group in a major exhibition at The Sherborne. Making Dorset will present the very best ceramic, furniture, silversmithing, print, glass, and textile work produced in the county, providing an important showcase for many skilled practitioners.

Drawing on Dorset
The Drawing Room at The Sherborne now gathers a selection of some of the original participants with new works that continue to explore Dorset as a place of inspiration for artists to investigate and respond to.

A Conversation with Dorset Makers: Ceramics
Yo Thom, Bjork Harralsdottir and Victoria Jardine in conversation with Martin Dickson about how their cultural roots find a voice through their work. 6:30-8pm.

Our relaxed viewings are open to anyone who may not feel comfortable during busier opening hours, such as disabled and neurodivergent visitors, those with sensory processing needs, their families, friends, and support staff.

Cinematheque presents Never Look Away (15)
Starting in 1930s Germany, ‘Never Look Away’ is a drama-packed portrait of the artist Gerhard Richter.
After witnessing Nazi horrors as a boy, as an adult, his fate is intertwined with a former Nazi doctor in this ambitious, compelling film.

‘Where You Find Your Self’ is a visual exploration of hidden Dorset, conducted over one year through various media, research, recording, and recollection by members of Dorset Visual Art’s Interrogating Projects Group.

Cinematheque presents Faces Places (12)
Iconic French film director Agnes Varda and photographer JR set off in a photo booth van around rural France, meeting and photographing people along the way.

BIND
Members of Dorset Visual Arts Salon Collective present new works which explore the relationships which bind as well as differentiate their various approaches to making work, with a focus and exploration on colour, drawing and interdisciplinary practice.

Cinematheque presents Everlasting Moments (15)
Set in early 1900s Sweden, ‘Everlasting Moments’ is a moving story of Maria Larsson winning a camera in a lottery and her subsequent decision to keep it, changing her whole life. This true story follows her path to freedom and independence from an abusive husband.

Cinematheque presents Seraphine (PG)
Based on the extraordinary life of one of France’s most significant modern artists, Seraphine de Senlis.
As a middle-aged housekeeper in rural 1920s France, Seraphine carries a secret and talented passion for painting, which she regards as religious inspiration.
