Low-toxicity contact printing and camera-less photography workshop

Join artist Hannah Fletcher, founder of The Sustainable Darkroom in London, to explore two different ‘photographic’ print-making processes, both of which utilise decaying and decomposing garden matter from The Sherborne’s garden.

Taking the opportunity for close looking and observation, as well as building on the idea of ‘habits of looking’ and ‘challenging the dominance of the eye’, as explored in the exhibition, the workshop will utilise the parts of the plants which are not readily seen as beautiful or desirable in the garden, such as dead flower heads, weeds and other composted items activating them through two different processes – one a photographic printing process and the other a mono-printing process.

Both processes are great for all ages and abilities. You do not need to have any artistic talent to create interesting imagery to take home.

There will be a break for lunch.
