The town of Sherborne is brimming with history and heritage and has much to offer visitors. You can explore the town with its independent businesses and markets, drop into the Abbey, marvel at its fan-vaulted roof, and delight in the Medieval buildings, Almshouse and two Castles. Sherborne has excellent transport links, making it an easily accessible destination.
The Sherborne is situated at the top of the town, a stone’s throw from the town centre, and is within easy walking distance of bus stops and the South Western Railway train station on South Street.
We recommend spending a minimum of 1 hour 30 minutes to fully appreciate the House, galleries, and gardens.
Sherborne offers a range of convenient parking options for visitors arriving by car. Limited free roadside parking is available nearby, and three pay-and-display car parks, Newland North, Coldharbour, and Old Market Yard, are conveniently located within easy reach.
We have limited restricted mobility parking spaces on-site and drop-off access for those who require this. Where possible, please call before your visit so the Visitor Hub team can assist you.
Well-behaved dogs are welcome on the front terrace.
Dogs are not permitted inside the house, in the rear gardens, in the shop, or Macready’s Restaurant, except for assistance dogs.
