Location: The Sherborne, Dorset
Hours: Variable, 32 to 48 hours per week, mornings/evenings and weekend work may be required
Salary: £12.21 – £13.00 per hour, depending on experience
Contract: Permanent
Reports to: Head Chef / Food & Hospitality Manager

Role Overview

We’re looking for a talented, motivated and organised Chef de Partie to join our growing kitchen team. You’ll work closely with the Head Chef to prepare beautiful, seasonal dishes that celebrate local ingredients and reflect the creative ethos of The Sherborne.

This is a great opportunity for a confident and passionate chef who thrives in a fast-paced but supportive kitchen and is excited to be part of something meaningful and evolving.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present high-quality dishes to standard across various sections of the kitchen
  • Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment
  • Work with the Head Chef to develop new menu ideas and contribute creatively
  • Assist with ordering, stock rotation, and minimising food waste
  • Maintain exceptional food hygiene and safety standards
  • Support events, workshops, and seasonal feasts as part of our cultural programme

 

What We’re Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Chef de Partie or strong Commis looking to step up
  • A passion for seasonal, fresh food and beautiful presentation
  • Calm under pressure, with good time management
  • Enthusiastic team player with a positive attitude
  • Flexible and willing to support wider hospitality events and creative projects
