We’re delighted to introduce Paul Newman as the creative behind our arts programme. As part of our partnership with DVA, he will be residing at The Sherborne as our Visual Arts Lead, curating a dynamic cultural offer and engaging audiences both near and far.
A celebrated regional artist himself, and fierce supporter of homegrown Southwest talent, Paul is eager to make The Sherborne an inspiring venue that showcases the transformative power of art and brings together a community. When we asked Paul what he’s looking forward to the most, he claimed:
“Working with the historic space is going to spark some important conversations and prompt some exciting lateral thinking. It’s not your average blank canvas, and we’re looking forward to embracing the challenge. Hopefully, it will be a venue for both regional and national art. It’s not only the visitors who have something to truly look forward to; this is also a fantastic opportunity for raising the profile of regional artists, providing us with an ambitious platform to work towards.”
