Clare Hawkes, Victoria Jardine and Ilona Skladzien in conversation with Paul Newman.
In conversation with Dorset Visual Art’s Salon Collective members, artists discuss ideas around drawing practice, using colour, and interdisciplinary practice. They explore the relationships that bind and differentiate their approaches to making work.
The Group meets regularly to critically review work in progress, encourage skills swaps and knowledge sharing, studio visits and informal collaborations, and consider some of the different aspects and challenges of working as an artist in a rural county.
The discussion will share this approach with the public, providing fresh insights into the work in the current exhibition at The Sherborne and a unique opportunity to hear from each artist about how their ideas develop and respond to each other, with some surprising revelations.
